Wanted: One Sign Painter

A new coat of topsides paint has Mistral shining like a new dime but the ever-lovely transom had to be left alone until we found a sign painter who could recreate that gold lettering. Painters willing to work at non-profit rates should feel free to contact us with a note in the comment box. Posted by Picasa

Hello, Nice boat.
I am 47 male and haqve been a hand sign painter craftsman for 30 yrs.
You have not offered any indication or hint what "non-profit" rates mean to you. Good luck finding a volunteer to do this.
Hand work and true craftmansship has been replaced with computers and lack all personality, though is much cheaper.
True 23k gold leaf, hand applied to a boat transom with single color outline, and sealed (because boat people wash and abraid the work with brushes and detergents) is quickly $1500.00
Remember u are paying for real gold that is at record high prices, and skill and craftmanship that took many years to learn how to do (properly); newbies will quote u less and I quarantee you the work will be lesser quality on every level, wont last and usually begins to flake off after a single season.
I'm on the east coast, so not available to do this.
But I suggest, if this is an historic boat that your group has restored, this gilded name isnto the plaace to cut corners. Hirs someone that has the experience and pay them fairly, It took 20 yrs to learn what they, (we), know and be good at it.

P.S. in proofing, for typing errors, not illiterate, just a real small keyboard. I'm a sign painter with a brush, not a keyboard and I've been up all night working.
